With over 790 households in KenBrink, it is impossible for the committee to maintain an up-to- date awareness of the needs of all residents.
What Role does a Wag Captain Play?
The WAG Captain’s job is to get to know who lives in their zone and establish two-way communication. The ultimate goal of our Captains is to foster a feeling of community and positive support for each of their respective zones.
This can be broken down into:
General Awareness:
The Street Captain will be aware of needs, ideas, and issues affecting the residents in their zone, bringing such issues to the attention of the committee.
Official Communications:
The captain will pass on important information to members of their group, through WhatsApp, phone call, letter, email or door-to- door visits.
KRA Subscription reminders:
The Street Captain should know which residents in their zone have paid subs and help the KRA by encouraging their members to contribute.
Information Collection:
From time to time, the KRA might need information from the captains, and the Street Captain will be asked to approach the members of their group to gather this information.
New residents:
The Street Captain will also know when new residents move into their zone, connect with them and share information about committee initiatives and the KRA. This information can be passed onto the New Residents committee.
